Illuminating Joy

The phrase “Girls just wanna have fun” speaks so clearly here. The red lipstick, standing in a fountain of sun and water streaming, it all speaks to that simple phrase. In case you missed the introductory blog post, you need to check it out! Click here. You will be blown away by her sheer beauty.

So I now want to fully introduce who is behind the images. Please meet Michelle. She is a competitive roller skater gone stellar. The long brown curls, porcelain skin, and million dollar smile don’t even begin to encompass her true beauty. She is a woman sold out to the Lord, loving and patient. She has a spirit that bounces off of every wall and you can’t help but smile when you are around that.

Check out this stunning woman (both inside and out). You will find yourself staring at the computer screen with a smile on your face. The joy is contagious. She is uniquely Michelle, perfect just the way she is.

Take a look for yourself.

At the end of our session, we debriefed on the past two hours. Michelle said that she found it to be so true that I would guide her along the way, I would make her feel comfortable, I told her “I lied… one more” at least three times, she laughed at my ridiculousness, and she walked away feeling joyful and empowered. So at this point I want to say, I TOLD YOU SO! Check out what I say to expect in a shoot here and see what lines up with her experience. Let’s just say, I don’t lie… ok, ok…I only lie after I say “Last one,” and then get another vision for another “Last one.” But seriously, this is what to expect.

The beauty that is...

She is beauty. She is patience. She is love.
I spent some time this Saturday capturing the beauty that is Michelle. As I have said before, you capture a photo and you 'just know.' Well this was the photo where as my finger hit the trigger as she giggled her sweet giggle at one of my (probably not so funny) jokes, I 'just knew.' I believe this photo so poetically captures who this beautiful woman is and is growing to be. The softness, the precious smile and laughter, the poise and the joy that came pouring out, all point back to who is within this image.

Enjoy! And come back for the rest.

Until next time...

Shanna I Coming Soon

Today, I spent time with one beautiful high school senior, Ms. Shanna Lynn Bland. We spent several hours on USF's campus taking her senior portraits for her upcoming graduation this spring. To say she is beautiful would be an understatement. I thoroughly enjoyed our time together and am anxious to show you what else I have stored on my end of the camera. Enjoy this beauty.

Joyce I Portraits

My sweet, sweet grandmother hired me to take her photograph as fall was among us. She wanted to give every member of our family a photograph of herself for us to hold on to. When my grandfather passed away in 2001, she realized that she did not have an even descent photo of him for herself or anyone else to hold on to. Since that day, she has made a point to get a photograph of each of her family members so that she would not be kicking herself in the face again. This year, she was treated like a celebrity and we went out and captured her at her finest! Despite being a grandmother, she was popping hips and giving a sweet smile for the camera. Here is what I have been hiding!
Enjoy!

Is she not the sweetest woman!? Love her with all of my heart. Have a blessed Wednesday and honor God in all you do.
