Stang Wedding I Coming Soon

Labor Day weekend marked a very important day. First of all it was Matt & Amanda's wedding day, but for me it was my first wedding to shoot as a photographer.

Walking into the church my heart was pounding harder than it ever has in my life while excitement and fear of failure filled my insides. Amanda was calm, cool, and collected. I am so thankful for the risk Amanda took on me for the biggest day of her life. 

The entire day was full of laughter and fun. I wish the newly weds all the happiness and thanks for what they have given me. Here are just a few photos from the day with many more to come!

There is a Season.

Ecclesiastes 3: 1-8
 ¹ There is a time for everything, 
   and a season for every activity under the heavens:

 ² a time to be born and a time to die,
   a time to plant and a time to uproot,
 ³ a time to kill and a time to heal,
   a time to tear down and a time to build,
 ⁴ a time to weep and a time to laugh,
   a time to mourn and a time to dance,
 ⁵ a time to scatter stones and a time to gather them,
   a time to embrace and a time to refrain from embracing,
 ⁶ a time to search and a time to give up,
   a time to keep and a time to throw away,
 ⁷ a time to tear and a time to mend,
   a time to be silent and a time to speak,
 ⁸ a time to love and a time to hate,
   a time for war and a time for peace.

This is a piece of scripture that I hold onto as I head into this new chapter of my life. Thursday at 5:00pm my year spent at the Indianapolis Zoo came to an end. This was a scheduled end date, no surprises. I have learned and grown in so many different ways and for that I am thankful. However, with this end time comes fear.

I am officially unemployed and have a tinge of fear as I look into the next week knowing that the forty plus hours I have spend at the Indianapolis Zoo are no longer a part of my weekly routine. I fear that I have no purpose. That I am inadequate. That I am not just failing myself, but also my parents. 

Landing a job is not something that comes easy in these present times. I must remain patient. This is where I truly rely on the scripture. There is a time for every season of my life and God is in complete control of that. Where I will go, what I will do, and the lives I will touch will all be answered in good time. Until then I must be patient and trust in the Lord's plan and my season.

I have accomplished great things in my time at the Zoo and for that I am grateful. I will continue to lean on those accomplishments to push me forward to what is ahead. 

Prayers are always welcomed :) 

Preparation

I have spent my afternoon in anxious preparation for what is ahead in just a few days. On Friday, September 2, I will be making my way to Norwalk, Ohio to photograph my first wedding as a photographer. Excited does not even begin to express how I feel in this moment, just under a week away from the big debut.

To divert my excitement into productive time spent I found myself sitting outside on my back porch preparing myself for that day. The scheduling is done. The e-mails are complete. The hotel is booked. I am ready to let my creativity become a part of this wedding ahead.

I am so very thankful for the risk, but more importantly, the confidence this couple has in me to shoot the most important day of their lives. Be looking for photos to show up in the near future. But as for now, I will just prepare with careful deliberation. I want to be the best photographer I can be and with that comes again, preparation.

If you would, send up a little prayer for me as I embark in great responsibility in the coming days. God has given me a gift and I am just beginning to use and share it with you all.

Eric & Anna I Engagement

And here we are! The photos are complete and I am able to share my art with all of you. This is my favorite part...the feed back! I love to see who likes what and what are peoples claim on "favorites." It's funny how much they vary between each person. Either way, here they are! With a perfect Indiana summer night to capture these moments that are forever theirs, I am happy to share what I have created. Both Anna and Eric made it easy on me with their laid back attitudes and flexibility. Anna even gave me permission to touch him (Eric) to help her figure out what to do. Ha. We had a wonderful time and were able to catch up on each others lives. I am thankful and honored to be a part of this exciting piece of their lives. At that I won't delay any longer.....

All Grown Up...

Today my little brother left to move into his new tiny little dorm room at the University of Indianapolis. I am so incredibly proud of him and the man he has grown to be over just the last year. I am excited for what adventures and trials he has ahead of him that will continue to shape him into a Godly man and leader. 


I love you Cory and good luck with the start of some of the best times of your life.

Eric & Anna I Coming Soon

Saturday evening I had the honor of capturing the most important thing in life, love. Miss Anna Chatfield contacted me weeks ago to schedule a time to take their engagement photographs and show off her new BLING! The weather was a perfect, overcast sky. New Toys

I got more photography toys! When this happens and I have no model, by dog becomes the little lady in front of the camera. If she wasn't so a.d.d. it would be a little easier :) but here are a few shots of my little girl with my new toys! Enjoy...
